HER FAITH AND FINAL FAREWELL
The funeral service prepared in her memory reflects a strong Christian foundation. The order of service included prayers, hymns, Scripture readings, a sermon, the Apostles’ Creed, an offertory, a final prayer and blessing, and the committal at the graveside.
Among the Scripture passages selected for the service were 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18, which speaks of hope concerning those who have died, and a reading from John 4, concerning the living water offered by Jesus.
The funeral service also drew from Psalm 39, with its reflection on the brevity of human life and the hope placed in God. The service repeatedly returned to themes of faith, resurrection, eternal life, comfort, and hope.
At the graveside, the family and congregation entrusted her to God, committing her body to the earth while holding to the Christian hope of resurrection and everlasting life through Jesus Christ.
A FAMILY’S FAREWELL
The closing prayers of the funeral service expressed a prayer for comfort and strength for her husband, children, relatives, and friends during the period of bereavement. The service acknowledged the pain of losing a loved one while seeking comfort in the Christian hope of resurrection and eternal life.
The family of the late Mayanja Monic Muwanse also expressed their gratitude to everyone who did something in her life and prayed that God would bless them. Their closing words entrusted her to the Lord’s rest and peace.
