Miles Funeral Services, on behalf of the family of the late Onanyang Lawrence and Auma Mary Magdalene, with deep sorrow announces the passing of Okello Robert Onanyang, who departed from us on Tuesday, 29th July 2025.
Robert was a compassionate, humble, and visionary individual who touched countless lives through his work in public service and his warmth in personal life. He leaves behind a legacy of wisdom, dedication, and love for his community.
Brief Biography
Born in 1973, Robert pursued his education passionately, attending:
- Namuyonga Primary School (P.1–P.7)
- Bukedi College (O-Level)
- Mbale High School (A-Level)
- Institute of Business and Management Studies (IBM) – Diploma in Journalism
- Law Development Centre (LDC) – Certificate in Administration
- Uganda Management Institute (UMI)
- Stanford University – Degree in Journalism
He was a devoted husband to Muzaki Hellen and a proud father to three wonderful children:
- Auma Mary Magdalena
- Atim Dezire Martha
- Emmanuel Onanyang Lawrence
Professionally, Robert was a beacon in the field of communication and public service. He served with excellence as:
- A journalist at Etop Radio (1999–2000)
- Information Officer, Soroti District (2001–2005)
- Clerk to Council, Soroti Municipality (2014–2020)
- Communications Officer, Soroti Municipality (2020 until his passing)
